Bald Sumac

This is the most detailed print I have ever gotten out of bald sumac. So pretty.

Cherry Bark

According to the book Wild Color by Jenny Dean cherry bark makes a muted pink. It has to soak for a week so I will try it out when I get back from the Edmonds Arts Festival next week. My husband was soaking chipped cherry wood to put in the smoker and pointed out the color of the soaking water. This led to searching for the book, then reading the book and then making more chips to soak. It will be a miracle if my clothes are packed and the car is loaded by Wednesday! I am turning into a squirrel.

Knapweed and Rusted Nails

One of my favorite combinations, rusted nails with knapweed, maple and some of my neighbor's iris.

Weed Results

As you can see the iris made their lovely blue and the knapweed is a kicky yellow orange, but most of the other weeds seem to impart yellow with not many distinct prints. There is one lovely green yellow leaf off to left of the knapweed and of course I can't figure out what it would have been!

Weeds

I have a lot of work to do. These will get put into scarves that have been treated with alum.
